On August 15, The California Highway Patrol will be joining with other local law enforcement agencies in an effort to reduce traffic incidents and violations in high volume areas of the City of Tehachapi. Through public awareness and focused enforcement efforts, the CHP hopes to increase the safety of the motoring public. The increased enforcement aims to help drivers recognize the presence of law enforcement and reduce the number of traffic collisions and vehicle code violations occurring in Tehachapi.
“Safety on the highways is paramount for all motorists and pedestrians throughout Tehachapi,” states Mojave CHP Commander, Lieutenant Julian Irigoyen. “Remember to obey traffic laws, buckle up, drive the speed limit and avoid becoming distracted behind the wheel.”
Tehachapi Police Sgt. Wyatt Empey confirmed that Tehachapi Police officers will be participating in the operation.
