Love's expects to reopen soon

A power outage that affected more than 2,000 Tehachapi customers of Southern California Edison on Wednesday, Aug. 1, created problems for the Love's Travel Center, causing it to remain closed through Thursday morning, Aug. 2.
The outage was caused when a bird hit an electrical line near Love's on East Tehachapi Boulevard at about 10:20 a.m. Aug. 1. Most customers had power restored within the hour. However, the surge caused electrical problems that affected operations at Love's and the adjacent Subway and McDonalds restaurants.
Employees at Love's on Thursday morning said they expected to be operational around noon.
