Take note, Tehachapi area 2013 graduating seniors -- Tehachapi Valley Art Association is offering four $1,000 art scholarships to award to deserving graduates of the 2013 school year. If you have attended any Tehachapi area school this past year, including home-school, Monroe, Heritage Oak, Valley Oak or Tehachapi High and plan on continuing your education in a fully accredited college or university, you may apply. TVAA has a 33 tradition of annually providing scholarships to local students who continue their study of the arts while working toward their career goals. If you are entering a college or university this fall with a major or minor that includes the opportunity for you to include courses in any of the arts; Music, Fine arts, Performing arts, Architecture, Computer graphics - animation, Photography, etc., TVAA encourages you to apply for a scholarship.
Application forms available at www.galleryngifts.com or at Gallery 'n' Gifts, 100 W. Tehachapi Blvd. The winning recipients will receive scholarship monies at the time he or she provides proof of registration into an art related class at the college or university they are attending in the fall.
In the past five years, TVAA has awarded over $16,000 in scholarships to Tehachapi area students. In addition, 2013 $4,000 more will be added to that amount. TVAA Art Scholarship monies have been awarded annually since 1979.
Scholarship monies are funded from TVAA sponsored events including annual fairs in the park, the very popular bi-annual Photography Contest, Chalk on the Walk, the All Tehachapi Youth Art Contests and donations from TVAA's very own Gallery 'n' Gift members.
TVAA is pleased to announce the partnership with Star Wireless - Direct TV who generously donate to the TVAA scholarship funds, earmarked for our Tehachapi area grads.
Students receiving TVAA scholarships have gone on to further their careers in music, theater, computer animation, studio arts, teaching, and even auto design.
