The restructuring of the Tehachapi Unified School District’s Extended Daycare Program offered at its elementary sites has resulted in a change in hours of operation.
That change left some parents scrambling the first day of school.
“Unfortunately we did notice parents the evening before, but have since been in communication with parents at each site to reconsider the hours,” said district Superintendent Lisa Gilbert. “We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused families and hope to provide the requested services that are within our capacity to offer."
Gilbert said the district will be evaluating the need for parents to access the service at certain times and will be doing whatever the it can to rearrange staffing to provide coverage.
