Kern County firefighters investigate the scene of a crash on Highway 202 near Cummings Valley Road.

Slow traffic caused an accident on Highway 202 between Cummings Valley Road and Banducci Road on July 22 at around 4:45 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officer Charles Jensen said that a gold Chevy Silverado accidentally crashed into a blue Hyundai Electra when traffic slowed on Highway 202 to accommodate a vehicle turning left into a driveway.

Both vehicles ended up off of the road and in the brush, and sustained damage. The driver of the Hyundai was transported from the scene by Hall Ambulance after complaining of pain. The pickup driver was uninjured.

Jensen said the pickup driver was unaware of the slowed traffic when the accident occurred. No drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

Kern County Fire Crew 13 from Golden Hills and officers from Bear Valley Police Department assisted with the traffic accident.
