The death of a 38-year-old Helendale man in Tehachapi on Sunday is being investigated as a homicide.
The victim was identified as Robert Limon, who is believed to be an employee of BNSF Railway Company, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office. Helendale is a small community in San Bernardino County, between Victorville and Barstow.
According to a release from the KCSO, deputies from the Tehachapi Sub-Station responded to a report of a man down at an industrial complex located in the 1500 block of Goodrick Drive at about 6:46 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17.
When deputies arrived they found an unconscious adult male inside one of the industrial buildings occupied by BNSF Railway Company.
The victim was suffering from obvious trauma to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a later report from the Coroner's office, Limon was assaulted by another at the industrial park. An examination will be scheduled.
