The latest - The weather is warm and sunny, but rain and snow is headed to Tehachapi later this week beginning on Thursday night. Snow levels are expected to drop to near pass level. The weather, however, is predicted to clear up by the weekend, just in time for Main Street Tehachapi's Valentine Wine and Chocolate Tasting in Downtown on Saturday.

Feb. 3
08:12 PETTY THEFT LESS THAN $400.00  Occurred on Brentwood Dr. Officers found that someone had taken the rear plate from a motorhome.

09:09 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred on West “I” St. A male who has been allowing her to live in the trailer behind the house is now demanding that she leave. Threatening to burn the trailer down.

09:41 COUNTER AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT Occurred at Tehachapi Police Department on East “F” St. Two elderly gentlemen requesting officer assistance.

10:45 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES Occurred on West Valley Blvd. Eric Gonzales, possible warrant suspect was arrested atlocation.

11:53 DISTURBING THE PEACE Occurred on West “I” St. Continuing disturbance verbal, female will be outside the residence, the male is inside the residence.

20:36 ASSIST OTHER AGENCIES Officer initiated activity at Save Mart onTucker Rd. Checked suspicious vehicle with Stallion Springs Police Department.

23:03 USING OR BEING UNDER INFLUENCE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE Occurred on Kelton St. Possible Health and Safety activity across the street from the reporting parties house. Subjects are in a dark colored vehicle some are in the street.

23:11 DISTURBING THE PEACE Officer initiated activity at Kelton St. Loud party.

23:59 MISSING PERSON Occurred at Tehachapi Hospital on West "E" St. Individual came in at approximately 6:50 p.m. and left at approximately 11:30 p.m. Subject is white Female 5'4", heavy set, with blond hair, black/white stripped shirt with IV in her arm. She was returned to hospital.

01:04  PARKED VEHICLE Officer initiated activity at Amber Oak Storage, West Tehachapi Blvd. Vehicle occupied.

06:45 TRAFFIC CONTROL NEEDED Officer initiated activity at East Valley Blvd. and Snyder Ave.

Kern County Sheriff Tehachapi Substation:

Feb. 1

9:20 p.m.  Burglary  from parking lot / garage on Santa Barbara Drive

Feb. 2

7:43 p.m.  Petty theft less than $950 at residence on Santa Barbara Drive
9:42 p.m.  Petty theft less than $950 on Commercial Avenue South

Feb. 3

1:40 p.m.  Sexual assault on minor under the age of 16

Stallion Springs Police Department:

Feb. 2

11:15 p.m  Officers performed a traffic stop for minor vehicle code violations.  Officers discovered the adult male driver, a 28-year old Tehachapi resident to be intoxicated and placed him under arrest. A name is being withheld by police.

Bear Valley Police department: Nothing to report.

CHP: Nothing to report.

WEATHER FORECAST

The National Weather Service in Hanford provides the following forecast for the Tehachap area:

• This afternoon: Sunny, with temperatures falling to around 51 by 5 p.m. East southeast wind around 5 mph.

• Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. Calm wind becoming a light westerly breeze.

• Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 60. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

• Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

• A chance of rain and snow move in by Thursday night and is expected to reamain through Saturday morning with snow levels at 4,400 feet.

The Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District has scheduled an additional special board meeting for noon, today in the hospital conference room, 115 West “E” St. to further discuss issues tabled at their special board meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Tehachapi City Council meeting tonight  at 6 p.m. at the Beekay Theatre.

Tehachapi Economic Development Council  Wednesday, Feb. 6, 7:30 a.m. at the The Apple Shed.

The Tehachapi-Cummings County Water District has scheduled a special board meeting for Thursday, Feb. 9 at 9 a.m. at the distrcit headquarters, 22901 Banducci Rd.
