Using a World War II USO theme, Friends of the Tehachapi Depot celebrated its annual members Christmas dinner.
During World War II, Tehachapi was a major railroad hub and transfer point for troops.
A large holiday-inspired collection of appetizers before a dinner of potatoes, turkey, vegetables and wine was served. A knockout dessert of hot apple compote served in a mason jar followed along with more local wine.
It was a sellout crowd. With membership well into the mid-hundreds, the Depot could only seat 80 this night.
