The Tehachapi Police Department arrested 14 people on suspected misdemeanors and five people on suspected felonies, two of whom were arrested on felonies twice, during the week of June 24-30.

The felony arrests the department listed on a weekly report were on suspicion of felony warrants; sex crimes; felony warrant, possession and transportation of narcotics for the purpose of sales; bringing a controlled substance into a jail; and forgery, vehicle theft and burglary.

A total of 295 incidents were handled by Tehachapi Police officers, including 198 calls for service from the public and 97 officer-initiated incidents.

Officers wrote a total of 47 reports.

Other stats that show the work officers performed for the week: They handled 46 business or building checks and 26 checks on vehicles or pedestrians.
