Rachel Sheppard of Tehachapi was shot three times at the country music festival in Las Vegas Sunday night, according to her friend Cliff Suazo, owner of the Doghouse Saloon and Savannah's Old Town Saloon.

Rachel Sheppard of Tehachapi is recovering from a second surgery after being shot Sunday in the Las Vegas mass shooting, according to a family friend.

Cliff Suazo, owner of the Doghouse Saloon and Savannah's Old Town Saloon, said he spoke to Sheppard's aunt at 1 a.m. Tuesday, and was told Sheppard required a second surgery after she was shot three times, with at least one shot hitting her in the abdomen.

Suazo said he will hold a barbecue and auction starting at 11 a.m. Saturday with proceeds to go to Sheppard and her family. In addition, Suazo said a candlelight vigil will be held at 9 that night.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by a friend for Sheppard, and tip jars are available at both of Suazo's saloons for donations.

Sheppard has been employed at Don Perico's Restaurant for the past four years. The restaurant plans to hold a separate fundraiser on Saturday. Details will be shared when they become available.

Additionally, there will be a prayer vigil from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Friendship Hall at Tehachapi Community Congregational Church, 100 E. E St. in Tehachapi.
