Michael Lopez’ unexpected passing leaves behind many loving family and friends who will miss him greatly, none more than his bride of nearly two years, Emily Lopez (formerly Emily Mulkins) and their soon to be born child. Baby Lopez is due to arrive on Dec. 28. As we can only imagine, the horror of this tragedy has left behind many in our caring community of Tehachapi wondering how we can help.

First and foremost, the Mulkins’ family has asked for our understanding and prayers. Their loss has been almost unbearable and they credit their faith and friends as being perhaps the only things that have sustained them through this very difficult time. The  Mulkins family and especially Emily, truly appreciates the sincere outpouring of love and concern they have received.

Along that line and as a means of expressing our love and concern for Emily and the baby, friends of the family have opened an account at Bank of the Sierra. Please feel free to donate as your heart dictates to the account named: Melinda Hopper and or Karen Snider “for the benefit of Emily Lopez.”

We know that ultimately God’s love will see Emily and the baby all the way through this ordeal to a place that is far less complex and with far fewer tears. But for now, we the friends of Emily and the Mulkins family simply ask you each to search your heart and to graciously consider giving so Emily’s immediate and short-term needs can be met. One of the “joys” of both friendship and faith is the ability to give, and that is exactly what we are sharing with our extended community. Please make your financial gift a matter of prayer and even much more importantly, please continue to spiritually uplift Emily and the baby. Their loss is incalculable, their  need is real and their hope is in the Lord.

Thank you on behalf of Emily, Baby Lopez and the Mulkins family.
