The Tompkins Elementary School held it monthly Character Counts award ceremony on Friday, Feb. 2. Along with the awards ceremony, Principal Minjares announced the winning name of their tiger mascot. The student voted by ballot and a unanimous decision was made. The mascot was named “Tommy Tompkins.”
Caring was the focus of January's Character Counts. Each teacher at the school choose one student from their class who showed caring characteristics. The students each received a Certificate, pencil and a McDonald’s coupon.
