Two students were awarded certificates for being chosen Student of the Month at the Feb. 1 Lions Club meeting. The staff at Jacobsen Junior High chose Eduardo Pena, sixth grader.
Pena was chosen because of his work habits and his excellent attitude toward his school work. His teacher also noted that he is always helpful and has a very positive and helpful attitude toward his peers.
An important part of Eduardo’s life is his family and he enjoys playing football, baseball and soccer with his brothers. His cousin, Manual Monero, accompanied him for the evening.
Tehachapi High School chose Sean Kelly. Kelly is a very active senior. He is the Warrior Band drum major, co-captain of the flag team, director of the THS Comedy Sportz, and also a member of the Safe School Ambassadors. He also auditioned for the state honor band. He is currently a member of the jazz band. Kelly’s future plans are to attend Southern Western Oregon College then transfer to a four year college to complete his music degree.
The Tehachapi Lions were proud to present these awards.
