Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District will offer a city-wide, free-for-all Jazzercise Open House during the week of Jan. 5-9. New classes have been added with the recent certification of a new instructor.
"We offer a great program and with the New Year many people are making healthy New Year's resolutions which include adding exercise to their busy schedules," said Chris Duff, Jazzercise instructor for TVRPD.
With new instructor Melissa Bonner on board, exercise classes are now offered Monday through Saturday mornings and also five evenings a week.
"We are hoping to bring in new people, perhaps those that work will be able to make the 4 p.m. classes with Melissa, or the 6 p.m. night classes with Kathy Armendariz, a certified Aerobic Instructor," said Duff.
Open house festivities will include information on the Jazzercise program and a free workout. Admission is free to everyone, and participants should dress to exercise.
The 60-minute Jazzercise class includes a warm-up, high-energy aerobic routines, muscle-toning and cool-down stretch segment. Jazzercise combines elements of dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kickboxing and more to create programs for people of every age and fitness level.
