Friends of the Tehachapi Depot (FOTD) has been selected to receive a grant from Bank of the Sierra (BOS) in the amount of $3,500, to assist with establishment of a railroad museum at the soon to be rebuilt Tehachapi Depot.

Bruce Hamlin, Area Manager for Bank of the Sierra, coordinated processing the Friends’ application under the Sierra Grant Program, which benefits non-profit organizations throughout the bank’s service area.

The Friends have been working in partnership with the City of Tehachapi, the Tehachapi Heritage League and other community groups to create the planned railroad museum. Further donations and grants will be needed to complete the project.

More information about how to get involved with this historic project is available at www.tehachapidepot.com or by contacting Friends of the Depot  President, Fred Motter at 821-0437.
