Will James and Maria are a collaboration integrating a blend of Celtic and traditional American music with three-part harmonies. The members of the group are Bill Lorenz, Jim Davis and Maria Werth.

Bill and Jim are celebrating 35 years of playing music together. They started by swapping the songs of Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, the Everly Brothers and gospel music on a front porch in Rialto, California in November 1973. They made their first appearance in their current team-up at the Kern County Scottish Games and Gathering in 1995. Bill handles guitar and vocals and is the resident musicologist.

Jim plays fiddle, mandolin and vocals. He is also the group arranger.

Maria joined the group in 2005. The most in-demand musician in Tehachapi, Maria brought solid bass playing and the third vocal part to the group's harmonies. An annual fixture at Tehachapi's popular Concert In the Park series, Will James and Maria have made appearances at the Kern County Scottish Games and Gathering, the Lone Pine Film Festival, the Lancaster Poppy Festival, the Kernville Bio-Fest as well as Tehachapi's Mountain Festival and Fourth of July celebrations.

Don't miss this free Celtic-Americana flavored show Friday, May 15, at 7 p.m. For more information visit online at www.hillybeans.com or at Mama HillyBean's Café located at 426 E. Tehachapi Bl. 822-2326.
