Kevin A. Guterez

Kevin Guterez was born July 3, 1955, to Steve and Patricia Gentry at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield. He passed away June 3, 2009.

Kevin graduated from West High in 1973 and attended Bakersfield College where he earned his Journeyman's Certificate in carpentry.  Kevin worked as a framer and foreman for Don Kinzel Construction, and was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local #743 for approximately twenty years.

He enjoyed the game of golf, was a dedicated member of Tehachapi Mountain Group, Tehachapi Mountain Vineyard Church. He loved computer solitaire, card games (poker especially), and buying new “toys”at Home Depot.

And he dearly loved his two grandsons, Connor and Colton Kolpacoff. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Guterez; his daughter, Kristen Kolpacoff; son, Philip Guterez;  father, Steve Gentry; mother Patricia Gentry; sisters Vicki Guterez and Teresina Noto; brothers Steve and Mitchell Gentry, and many loving, caring relatives and friends. 

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Tehachapi, 1049 S. Curry St. on Friday, June 12 from 6-7 p.m.

A reception and Celebration of Life will be held in the Fellowship Hall directly after the service, from 7-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kevin Guterez funeral fund at the Tehachapi branch of Bank of the West.
