Classic folk ensemble The Folk Collection plays at Mama HillyBean’s Saturday, June 13 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased online at www.hillybeans.com

The Folk Collection is a three-part-harmony trio based in Southern California. Their music is a tribute to the songs made famous by The Kingston Trio, The Limeliters, Peter Paul & Mary, John Denver and the other great artists of the folk era.

Tony Unger, Ed Labowitz and Mike Sirota, along with bass man Bob Packham, grew up in the 1960s, when they fell in love with the story songs and three-part harmonies of that acoustic era.

Ed and Tony have been a duo on and off since their days at Hollywood High School. Mike joined the group in 2003 and Bob in early 2005.
