The Tehachapi Unified School District Facilities Committee report at the June 23, 2009 school board meeting expressly noted the many vacant properties owned by the district. Why had no board and administration, prior to the 2006 election of Trustees Graham, Hart, Snyder and Warner, inventoried the real estate holdings of this district? If Dr. Marian Stephens were still superintendent would this facilities assessment have been carried out? What did happen from 2003 to 2007 was the deterioration of Wells School, Jacobsen Junior High School and the agricultural facility on Anita Drive.
Coming from a small school district in Coal Center, Pa., Dr. Stephens was responsible for only two buildings consisting of a high school and an elementary/middle school holding about 1,000 students. Tehachapi High School student body almost equals the population in the Coal Center school boundaries.
During Dr. Stephens’ administration from 2003 to 2007, Tehachapi High School went through six principals. Friends of Recall advocate, Tim Trujillo, touts his expertise as a human resource consultant in criticizing the dismissal of Dr. Stephens and demotion of Mr. Trigueiro. Where was he when the high school was a revolving door and morale dipped precipitously?
What the voters need to understand is the less than veiled plans to succeed in the recall, fire Dr. Swanson and replace him with Dr. Stephens. Get involved in understanding the issues by starting with the web sites: www.jurispro.com/MarianStephens and www.jurispro.com/JimTujilloSPHR. The fact is that Mr. Trujillo’s vituperation is filled with innuendo using terms such as “Fab Four,” “Union Bosses” and “outrageous behavior.”

Mr. Cox! Royce, Royce, Royce...come on. Why do you feel it's your job to provide misinformation to the Tehachapi public? For starters, this "Facilities Committee" you point out has quite a noteworthy member-makeup, to say the least, and absolutely screams RDA (Rural Development Agency) funds that have to be gotten rid of! Perhaps the Kern County Grand Jury should be asked to investigate THAT "committee", Royce! And please tell us, what is it with you and your continual obsession with Dr. Stephens? Is it jealousy of her level of education? Are you envious of her record of good ethics and professionalism, Royce? Dr. Stephens wasn't hired by the school board to be YOUR friend, Royce, she was hired to do the Superintendent's job, which she did well. If, in the course of carrying out the Superintendent's duties, her job was to hold accountable the employees of the TUSD, then isn't that what she was paid by the people to do, Royce? Yes, Royce, Dr. Stephens carried out her appointed duties well---unlike the current Superintendent, who bows down to anyone who walks into his office and then tells them whatever they expect to hear. She earned HER salary! Misleading the public doesn't work, Royce, and it's so transparently agenda-driven it's laughable. Maybe you didn't realize it, Royce, but in the process of posting links to "scary" "intimidating" (LOLOL) websites calling attention to Tim Trujillo (THAT'S how you spell his name, Royce!) you have only shot yourself in the foot. Those sites actually are complimentary and probably will impress anyone that reads them. Those sites point out experts in their respective fields, ROYCE, and curiously.....YOUR name is nowhere to be found anywhere in there! Hmmmm. You certainly are giving Friends of Recall (FoR) a lot of credit. I was under the impression that Superintendents were hired and fired by SCHOOL BOARDS....NOT RECALL COMMITTEES! Royce, I don't know where you came up with this theory that FoR is on a mission to re-install Dr. Stephens. Ridiculous! What makes you think that Dr. Stephens would want ANYTHING to do with this school district after YOU destroyed her career and reputation? Anyone who checks into FoR's MISSION will understand they are simply trying to recall a corrupt group of Trustees, and replace them with a fair and balanced board...that's all the public wants. It is unfortunate that the career and reputation of Mr. Trigueiro has been destroyed, but perhaps it's a blessing in disguise; that debacle has brought the profoundly less-than-respectable actions of the TUSD board to light. It opened the eyes of this community! Rest assured, ROYCE, you all will be hard-pressed to fool the public again. The public is watching...the public is taking notes! Do everyone a favor, won't you, and go back to the BeeKay Theater? Concentrate your energy on things you might be good at, like pancake powder and DRAMA. Your big mission should be making dressing rooms for the actors. Or how about a snack bar, do you have one of those yet? I think it's time you stopped accusing Mr. Trujillo of "vituperation and innuendo"! My gosh, the vocabulary! Wow! What script did that come out of? Why is it ok for you and others of your ilk to slam proponents of the recall in every way possible, yet you object to the public's use of such terms as "the fab four", "union bosses" and "outrageous behavior"? Besides being inoffensive in the context of a public discussion, they really are very accurate in describing the four trustees being recalled. Tehachapi is a nice community, Royce, but you are coming from someplace else. I think you owe Tim Trujillo and Dr. Stephens a big apology. Last time I checked, freedom of speech hadn't been eliminated yet. How about practicing what you preach and playing nice? Somehow, given your posts up till now, I'm doubtful that will happen. Lastly, I notice that "dglvr" posted her response exactly 12 minutes behind Royce Cox. By now most if not all people who have been keeping up with this know who Royce Cox is, seen him, met him, etc. Maybe it's not a stretch to connect the dots that seem to lead between Royce and "dglvr"? Hey, it's becoming more and more obvious to me.
