With Mojave controlling the boards and using strong forward play to force open looks in the paint, the Mustangs seemed to be in control most of the game and en route to an opening game summer league victory over Tehachapi.
However, after falling behind 38-29 late in the fourth quarter, the Warriors mounted an improbable comeback, going on a 12-2 run including a last second jumper to edge the Mustangs 41-40.
Christian Torres shot a critical three pointer with 22 seconds left in the game to help Tehachapi pull within one point at 40-39, then Cory Lange connected on a jumper at the top of the key with 2.7 seconds remaining to complete the comeback.
Overall leaders for Mountain Basketball were Robert Siegmund with 16 points and five rebounds, Christian Torres with eight points, four rebounds and three assists, Corey Torres with two points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist, and Cory Lange with 13 points and four rebounds.
The Warriors also played in a summer league tournament in San Diego this past weekend, but results were not available at press time.
