SCRIVNER TO RUN FOR SUPERVISOR
Bakersfield Councilman Enters Race for Kern Co. Supervisor, 2nd District
Bakersfield, Oct. 5, 2009 – Bakersfield Vice-Mayor Zack Scrivner announced today that he will run for County Supervisor in the Second District.
The district encompasses southeast areas of Bakersfield, Tehachapi, Rosamond and surrounding areas of Eastern Kern County.
Incumbent Supervisor Don Maben is not seeking re-election.
Scrivner said he will continue to work hard to bring fiscal responsibility to local government, prioritizing precious tax dollars to maximize services to local communities.
In addition, Scrivner will focus to deliver regional transportation projects, enhance economic development in the county, enhance Eastern Kern’s military defense installations, and promote renewable energy technology.
Scrivner serves on the Kern Council of Governments and is the District Director for California State Assembly Member Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield).He also served four years as a district representative for Congressman Kevin McCarthy during McCarthy’s two terms in the State Assembly.
Zack and his wife, Christina, a native of Ridgecrest, have two children, Zachary (3 years) and Robert (9 months).
