Director Jonathan Hall's truncated, lightened-up version of Macbeth that has delighted audiences at the California City Renaissance Faire and the BeeKay Theatre can be seen one more time - 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Mama Hillybeans.

In the old Shakespearean manner, actors hailed passersby to come in and enjoy the Oct. 24 presentation at the BeeKay Theatre.

The play was a presentation of the Tehachapi Community Theatre's “Bard for a Buck.”

“I edited it down to 30 minutes,” Hall said. “I had to say goodbye to subplots.”

While maintaining the gravity of the main characters, some situations were played as broad farce.

He also took the murders and “put them into a murder marathon.”

His new character named McDeath made short work of the numerous killings in the classic tragedy.

“He says it's done and they're dead,” Hall said.
