LoriM, instead of using x small to see if you've misspelled. Try spell check.  Consequensies and croutch grabbing?  Your x small font is making me lose my eyesight.  We're used to the misspellings of Gube.  But from you LoriMorales....shame on you!!

My parents used to cut the heads off of Gophers when they were out gardening.  I'm not sure what is worse than being caught in a mouse trap than being caught in one of the sticky traps.  Have you ever seen one of those poor little mice trying to get loose from the sticky.  It's kind of sad.

I've seen my share of headless chickens bouncing around and then having to eat them for dinner.  Yummy, boy that will kill an appetite.  I remember my dad killing Mr Bunny Rabbit once and then saying it was terrible, he never did it again.  What did my heartless mother do.  She cut it up and fried it.  The grocery store was just right around the corner.  So were my parents terrible people too LoriM?

Gube thinks he got us (me) all going ..... but it turned on him.  Poor baby boy man.  I called his bluff and he freaked.  I laughed all through my cake baking afternoon.  I was wrong, this actually was a little fun.  Usually I would try to avoid taking advantage of the weak minded but I just know Gube was once a mean 16 year old picking on the weaker 12 year old.

In Summary: 

1)     I will absolutely continue my advocacy of non-violence.  Carefully read my paragraph - it states clearly and is underlined (in the hopes you could read and understand) that I went to the violence side in order to give you a piece of your own clap-trap.  Guby fell hard.  TeeHee.  Just so ya know, I don't set gopher traps and I don't set out poison for the bunnies or squirrels.  I will kill a rattlesnake. And that is only because I garden with my grand daughter and want to keep her (and me of course) safe.  If time permits, I call the snake guy and he comes over and takes the rattler to a safe place.

2)     This print size is labeled x-small.  It is large enough for me to write and read easily.  And it gives me the opportunity to usually see when I've misspelled something. 

3)     I've also noticed the blogs coming and going.  TN may be busy editing because of the turn this site took ..... all the "let's let the kids have guns" so they can have some fun and then lots of pictures to show what is considered fun by some nut case.  Why would someone have photos (from movies of gore) ready and waiting?  Or look them up special for this site on the destruction of the Tehachapi train depot?  CooCoo

4)     So Gube says the men with bottle rockets "accidentally" burned down the depot.  I guess he has information we don't.  Maybe it was Gube - he sure has the nature for such things.  Says so his own self. 

5)     Now, for your one brain cell Gube, you really didn't have to tell anyone about that mother of all misfortunes.  I guess we can feel bad for your disability.  Most of us have and use more than one brain cell.   Just so you can be aware,  everywhere you go ---- there you'll be.  Love that about life. 

In the future, be very careful when you try to take on the old gramma ..... On that high note and obviously the winning side - I take my leave.

Thank goodness! I thought it was me and my computer. I wrote a new blog...it's gone...then it's back, with comments, but when I try to find the blog/comments - it's gone again. I even sent out an SOS to Sparks cuz I are so computer illiterate! Yeah, that's what I keep doing.  In the meantime it's driving me crazy...so I will blame gube's and his "BIG" colorful pictures.

 What happened to this blog?  Boys will be Boys.  (can't take spelling with a z at the end).  How many times has that phrase been used thoughout the years?  We can go off into Gubeland and react.  Now it has turned into "boys will be Serial Killers".

LoriM, you are reacting.....hopefully you don't seriously think that a boy and his gun will make Serial Killer material.  So it got me to thinking......Have you ever used Mouse traps, or gopher bait?  Isn't that kind of "passive agressive" killing?  We had a gopher come into our Lobby a couple of weeks ago.....I was able to trap it in the mens bathroom and another employee came and gently scooped him up and let him go outside.

Last night, I notice one of the rose bushes in front is dead.  And Low and Behold......Gopher hills surrounding the poor little rose bush.  Let's not kill the gophers!!!

Now just wondering - would you like to comment on the men who burned down the depot because they were drunk and out having grown up boy fun?  Do you have an opinion on that? 

Well Lorimorales if it is proven that these two men are the ones that are responsible for burning down the Depot then they should be held accountable. Obviously they are having a hard time proving that these two men started the fire. If they could prove it these two would have already been arrested and charged. I can understand why the authorities have not released the suspects names. They are afraid of people like you LoriMorales of attacking these two Innocent until proven guilty men. Many people believe that the authorities are using the illegal fireworks as a cover-up. The story has changed several times. They may not know what started the fire and are trying to use these two men as scape goats. So far all the info that we have been told is very questionable. Just because these two men where shooting of bottle rockets doesn't prove that they started the fire. There is a lot of community pressure to blame someone for the fire and I just hope that if the bottle rockets did not start the fire that these two men aren't sacrificed for the community sake. If it is proven that these two men did indeed start the fire then they should be held accountable. Depending on these two men's records I don't see them doing state prison time for the depot fire. True they may have caused the fire but it wasn't intentional it was an accident by negligence. They may get time out at Lerdo and a hefty fine and such but I don't think they deserve state prison time. Now if they both have criminal records then state prison time may be a reality for them.

And may I ask you to let your wife out of the closet, give her your gun (with live ammo) and let me watch in my crystal ball as she has some fun blowing your brain (purposely no plural there) out.  Just so ya know, I'll vouch for her in court that it was justifiable

By the way, just as an aside, they have books at the library that help you with spelling.  You may consider that as something positive to do with your spare time.

Yes, I had a great 4th too!  We did lots of stuff in BVS and in town.  Too bad my holiday weekend has to end and I have to go back to work tomorrow.  :(  Oh well, it's all good.

As far as the depot, I guess you missed some of the other blogs about it where many of us discussed it.  Yes, I am very saddened, and angry as well.  We went to a little shindig downtown on the 4th and it was right across from the depot.  Very painful to see.  The depot's loss is a great tragedy for it's historical significance both as a building and for what it means to the town of Tehachapi.  We all have to be patient though, the wheels of justice turn very slowly.  None of us have all the facts, but they will come out in time, and I'm confident that these guys will be prosecuted, as they should.

As far as Gube is concerned, well he's a character, and I truly believe that he says a lot of things to get a reaction out of people, which he's usually pretty successful at.  I could be wrong because I don't know him personally (he didn't make himself known at the meet and greet!), but I think his bark is worse than his bite.  If he doesn't introduce himself at the next meet and greet, we may never really know!

I hope your friend makes it through his bone marrow transplant OK.  That's an incredibly difficult and painful ordeal, but it sounds like he is surrounded with plenty of love, affection, and support.  That really is wonderful to hear!

One more note on the depot, I did see a banner hanging on the security fence around the remains that said something like, "The Depot, Back On Track".  Good to hear.  I also read an article somewhere here on the TN from a guy who I believe said he is an architectural historian and he was lamenting the course of the restoration before the burning down.  He said they were doing a lot of things that weren't historically accurate in the restoration and there should be different people in charge of it for the rebuild.  My thought concurs with his in the sense that the depot should be historically accurate, and they shouldn't be converting space in there to offices!  It should just be a depot and museum, not an office building!

GregL --- thanks.  My 4th was great.  How 'bout you?  We had a nice meal over friends - out in the back yard.  No one with weapons of any kind, or even fireworks.  Outlawed ya know.  But good conversation and laughs (about REAL funny stuff) with nice people.  Everyone there thought the fire rockets that took down the depot was a tragedy.  Appalled at grown men behaving so irresponsibly. 

And GL, you like trains - I would have thought you too would be feeling sad (and like me, mad) over our loss and the men who were just out having some fun.  And I just gotta ask ---- you really wanna make friendly like, let's spend time together, with your family and gube's?   I gave you an idea, what's your take on it? 

Just to provide some difference in what I think a man can be. We have a friend currently receiving a bone marrow transplant and has set up a blog site.  He and his family post daily updates on his condition.  With the blogs come very beautiful poems and pictures of rivers and valleys and mountains and sky and clouds, etc.  We may loose him, but we all know he is a very real man.

I'll say it over and over again.  Guns and knives are not toys.  Raise your children any way you want - but I'm hearing you whine right now because your bad ass kid shot the neighbor dead and is being locked away because he is considered a danger to society.  "How did this happen to us", you'll ask?  "Boo-Hoo, where did we go wrong?"  "I wonder why our baby boy doesn't feel any remorse about murdering another living thing?"   

You think dangerous adolescents come from no where?  They are usually raised by parents that believe guns are a way to kill something harmless and defenseless and do it for the shear pleasure of feeling powerful - like that has something to do with being male.   

GregL, Colitas, Olivia, you want gube's boyz outside your home shooting ...... whatever?  "Here gube, jr. take this sharp knife and go outside --- but be very careful."  Even dubby gubby says his boys have cut themselves many times ..... that's how they learned to be careful.  Geez ...... that's crazy.  Sorry if I offend your need for violence.   I garden outside and I play with my grand daughter outside.  We frequently have family and friends over and enjoy the outdoors on the patio.  I want your weapon bearing bratz no where near me and mine.

I think gube's limited brain power and propensity for weapons is a dangerous combination ..... but, GregL ..... you be friends with him - ya all go on a picnic and take your toys.  Really - someone should just take a chance.  Maybe your little Sally will learn to open and close a jack-knife - throw it into the ground - see how close she can "stick it" next to gube's little Johnny's foot.  It's just good, clean, American fun.

Lorie, we also have boys with BB guns and knives.  The knives are more of a collection.  They aren't allowed to take them outside.  Why did we buy them?  Normally, they will spend their own money on them and then I set the rules.  We know as they grow up to be men, they are going to use knives.  I'm wanting to make sure they know how to use them.  Kind of like the sewing machine I bought my daughter.  Same with the BB guns. They seldom take their BB guns out anymore.  The novelty has wore off.  In the beginning, we taught them how to use them and the rules in order to keep them.  If they disobey the rules.  The guns are put away for a period of time.  These are things we want them to learn before they become adults and not have a clue.  I'm sure my boys have shot at birds.  If they actually ever hit one. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do it again.  My husband had a gopher outside and our son wanted nothing to do with it's demise.  Some critters are considered as pests.  Some people insist that to shoot these pests is surely the sign of a serial killer.  They feel more comfort in knowing they have been caught in a trap or poisoned.  It's still death at your hands.

As our voice of reason (GregL) stated.  I think Gube is pulling your chain.

Was the fire intentional or an accident?  I'm not sure why the TN has not mentioned names.  Prominant family in Tehachapi I suppose?  It was reported that two boys came forward, then the story changed.  I find that very strange reporting.  Did the TN get the wrong information?  Or were they just trying to make us all feel better that they caught someone, or is it some kind of cover up on what really happened.  What I heard was the that the two mean were a substantial distance away from the depot and that it was an accident.  Do we still put these guys away for a really long time?  Was it arson or an accident?  There is a difference.  Either way....I'm sure my name would be spread around town if it has been me and a friend who caused it. 

I started this blog and was outraged about boyz - we find out now grown men - started a fire by acting like little and bad behaved boyz.  The result was terrible - could have been worse.  Someone could have been seriously burned, or even killed.  These blog sites seem to always go off course.  I don't know why.  I think some one actually thinks it is funny.  Here's a little lesson for anyone smart enough to understand it:  If no one laughs (but you) ----- it isn't funny.

The grown men playing with fire rockets, have not yet been identified in the papers - but I think the last article I read intimated that they know who they are and the police are carefully gathering facts prior to arrests. I hope these big boyz are put away for a really long time.   Hopefully they have not yet reproduced and created their own special next generation of idiots.

If these "men," and I use that term lightly, had been taught as boyz the consequences of their actions, they may have grown to be more responsible adults.

I think gube's attitude that this is no big deal is shameful.  Gube's the product of a father who thought it was okay for boyz to behave badly (he gives us some of the details further up at this site) and now, next generation can step up and they also behave badly.  His swell little boyz have guns to shot the birdies and squirrels ----- you explain the reason, because this is not sport, they are not hungry and requiring protein and if you just wanted target practice, set some tin cans out.  Shooting a bird for no reason is mean spirited and teaches the power a gun has over a defenseless little animal.  Son of Sam and Jeffry Daumier reinvented ---- Professional knives to play with - Gube ----- buy a game of monopoly, learn to play cards - like bridge, or chess - - and geez, maybe even read a book!  Take a piece of advice from someone much older and maybe your grandchildren won't feel the need to murder little robin red breast for fun.  Weapons, fire rockets, knives are VERY dangerous in the hands of children.

BVS Jess started a valid blog - a serious blog.....and it became fun and games, and once again the big question is buried.

So the city folks, and the police folks, and the newspapers folks can say....Whew! Their attention span is short!  The pressure if off!  We lucked out - we can continue to bury the facts!  Our BOYZ can continue the good life.

I've been involved a few years more and more recently than that.  Congrats on your pleasant memories.

I could bash LL all day long, but there are plenty of fine folks doing it and it isn't all bad. It is just extremely unfortunate that such a well-financed and supported organization, well-positioned to help lots of kids, doesn't.   Its all about the uniforms, the umpires, and the status the coaches get to feel.  Much better to schedule the time, throw out the bat and balls, and have the adults pitch to the kids and get a good game of "work-up" going. 

The current system gives about 10% of the participants an out-sized feeling of their ability, another 20% get to hang-in there with their more talented friends, 50% get bored to death standing in the field, and 20% get kicked in the teeth.  While a few coaches that are capable of doing so transmit some of the more esoteric game skills (the ones that only the top 10% or so can implement anyway) the biggest group of them micro-manage ("take a strike and then hit to right") kids who would be better off without their "help". 

I only played one season, at maybe 11 or 12, can't really remember exactly what age.  I remember at the end of the season the coach handed out a typed sheet to each player showing their stats for the season and a little note to each player.  I had it pinned up in my room for awhile, proud of my season.  I certainly wasn't the best player, but I tried really hard and the coach appreciated that.  It was fun, but I'm just not a sports kinda guy.  I preferred other activities like hiking and camping and experimenting with electronics and working on my train layout (HO), and I was busy with school band too.

 I Have a friend that has several acres out in Cummings valley and he has invited me and my boyz to come out and shoot lice and diseased infected ground squirrels..............His property has been over ran with squirrels and instead of hiring a exterminator to eradicate the situation he allows people to shoot them on his property......It's a control setting and it gives the boys a good real life experience with guns and the effect that they have................They will have Adult supervision and it will be a bonding experience for me and my boyz...................
