Dorothy Merella Reinbold Stephens, 80, of Tehachapi, passed away Nov. 29, 2016, of respiratory failure with her daughter and grandson by her side. Dorothy was born on April 9, 1936, in Waterloo, Ill., to William and Rena Reinbold.

Dorothy graduated from Waterloo High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Clifford Carliss Stephens on Dec. 22, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., and in 1966, moved to California with their four children: Clifford Clyde, Angela Jayne, Robyn Jean and Lori Ann Stephens.

Dorothy was a remarkable woman, devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and, to many, a best friend.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; her son, Clifford Clyde Stephens; her sisters, Marion Dilley, Jean Driver and Betty Ogle; and her dogs, Buster, Misty Mae and Mulan.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Carliss Stephens, of Tehachapi; children, Lori Ann Stephens, of Tehachapi, Robyn Touchkov, of Lake Isabella, Angie DeBock, of Tehachapi, and John (Jennifer) Stephens of Silverdale, Wash.; sister, Virginia Stapleton, of Redbud, Ill.; brothers, William (Pat) Reinbold and Kenneth (CC) Reinbold, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren Skyler Stephens, George Touchkov, Natasha Ramirez, Jessica Flake, Dawn Stephens and Jack Stephens; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at The First Baptist Church, 1049 Curry St. in Tehachapi.
