Ethel Janice McCutcheon Vyvyan, 1930–2018

Ethel Janice McCutcheon Vyvyan, age 87, went to the arms of Christ Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, in Tehachapi, Calif. Jan was born July 24, 1930, in Sayre, Pa.

She married Roy Jenkins McCutcheon in New York, and they relocated to Dunedin, Fla., in 1959. She was widowed after 53 years of marriage. Jan was married to Ray W. Vyvyan in 2001. They traveled extensively until his death in 2012. She then moved to Tehachapi, Calif.

Jan was a talented violinist, homemaker, seamstress at Burcham-McCutcheon Upholstery, receptionist, gardener, original health food fanatic, accomplished Celtic quilter and master puzzler. Most importantly, she was a blessing to the many people she touched in her life.

Surviving Jan are her children, Dr. Mark and Marilyn McCutcheon, Sue and Phillip Page, Philip McCutcheon, and Kathy Sondgerath, as well as grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at Mulberry Place for the last seven months, ProCare Hospice for their loving kindnesses, and Wood Family Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to hospice.
