Longtime Tehachapi resident Jerry Ray Lynch, 71, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 27, 2016. He is survived by his wife Sallie Lynch, his children Carla Collier, David Lynch and Sherry Lynch, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sisters Darlene Bishoff and Sandy Lynch, and brothers Lloyd Lynch and Melvin Lynch. He was preceded in death by his father Lewis Oscar Lynch, and mother Ina Merl Lynch, brother Gary, and his two sisters Wanda, and Betty.
Jerry was born in Drumright, Okla., on Nov. 6, 1945. In his youth, he was a good student and a basketball main string player. He married his love, Sallie, on Feb. 10, 1964. He was employed by California Portland Cement Company, starting as a laborer and worked up to control room supervisor. He retired after 32 years of hard work. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and gardening and will be very deeply missed.
Services were to be held at the First Baptist Church in Tehachapi on Jan. 4, 2017. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m., and service at 11 a.m., to be officiated by Pastor Scott Smith. A reception will follow. There will also be a graveside service in his hometown of Drumright, Okla., the following week.
