Jessie Rose Madden met her Lord face to face on Feb. 11, 2017. There, she was united with her husband, Dick, the love of her life, who had gone to heaven 11 1/2 months before her.

Jessie Rose Johnson was born on June 29, 1933 to Wesley and Blanche Johnson in the small farming town of Bonnie, Ill. She was the fifth of 13 children. At the age of 15, she met Dick and the two of them married four years later in Casper, Wyo. Jessie died on what would have been her and Dick's 64th wedding anniversary.

Jessie and Dick had five children: Michael, Pamela, Terri, Carol and Greg. The first two were born in St. Louis, Mo., and the next three were born in Seattle, Wash. Eventually, this young family moved to Southern California. Jessie and Dick remained in California, spending the last 20 years in Bear Valley Springs where you would often find them out on the golf course.

Jessie loved God, was a devoted wife, amazing mom and a wonderful grandma. She loved to garden, watch the birds and was awestruck at God's beautiful night sky. She loved going to church, reading her Bible, and never had an unkind word to say to anyone. She always saw the best in her husband, children and their spouses, and her grandchildren.
