Kathrine Jane Cummings Parkman, 90, resigned her soul to God on the morning of Jan. 21, 2018, in her home at the family ranch in Tehachapi, Calif., under the loving care and support of her daughter, Beverly Billingsley, and her husband, Richard. After being blessed with numerous years of health and happiness, she passed of natural causes with grace and comfort.
Kathrine, better known as “Nenne” to her family, was born on the 25th of February 1927, in Los Angeles, Calif., to mother, Helen Mary Jay, and father, Arthur Eustace Cummings. Kathrine graduated from Venice High School in 1945 and would go on to work as a riveter during World War II alongside her sister. She married Wade Albert Parkman Jr., the love of her life, in June of 1945 and would become a devoted and caring housewife and homemaker. A whole-hearted family woman, she also enjoyed traveling, feeding birds, and caring for her dog Betsy, two donkeys and cats.
Kathrine is survived by her three daughters, Beverly, Brenda and Judy; six grandchildren, Melissa, Rae, Danny, Chris, Justen and Jennifer; and 14 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Madysen, Seth, Liam S., Tristan, Brendan, Haley, Logan, Liam, Miles, Decklen, Alaya, Jordan and Noah.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles; sister, Elizabeth; husband of 64 years, Wade; and grandson, Scott.
A Celebration of Life and memorial service will be held at the Tehachapi Community Congregational Church, 100 E. E St., Tehachapi, CA, on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m.; and Tea Time will follow (wear pink in commemoration).
