Keven James Baird, 1965-2017

Keven James Baird, 1965-2017

On Oct. 1, 2017, Keven James Baird, husband of Michelle Renee Baird of Stallion Springs, Tehachapi, suffered a heart attack and passed away while attending a close friend’s birthday party in Cayucos, Calif.

Keven was born May 24, 1965, in Porterville, Calif., to the late James Morton Baird and Mary Ann Crumal. He attended Highland High School, where he played baseball and football, then graduated in 1983.

Following high school, Keven served in the United States Air Force from December 1984 through July 1987. He also honorably volunteered for the California Air National Guard and became a civil servant in September 1989. Keven proudly worked at Edwards Air Force Base for more than 29 years and was employed as a maintenance unit supervisor at the time of his passing. All those who worked with Keven would say that he went above and beyond the call of duty.

He was an avid and loyal fan of the L.A. Dodgers and the Oakland Raiders. In his spare time, he enjoyed hanging out and enjoying his family and friends; he had the kindest heart, a quick wit, fun sense of humor, and a truly gentle soul. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

Keven is survived by his wife for life, Michelle; two stepdaughters, Terra Severs Mayabb, her husband, David, and their three daughters, Mallory, Presley and Gage, and Danika Blake; his sisters, Stacy Riley of Los Angeles, Calif,, Jennifer Duncan of Eureka, Calif., and Susan Crumal of Visalia, Calif.; and his mother, Mary Ann Crumal of Tehachapi.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Baird; and his loving sister, Cyndi Crocker of Thousand Oaks, Calif.

A Keven Baird style Celebration of Life is being held on Nov. 4, 2017, at the Stallion Springs Community Center. Time has not been determined.

Wood Family Funeral Service has been entrusted with his care. For condolences please visit
