Kimberly Scammon was born in Blythe, Calif., on Aug. 30, 1966 and went to be with the Lord on Jan. 23, 2018. Kimberly was adopted by her parents in Riverside, Calif., when she was one month old, and lived there until 2005 when her family moved to Bear Valley.

During her high school years, Kim excelled in the Riverside agricultural programs and was a member of the FFA. She rode horses in the parade group, and had a lifelong love of horses.

Kimberly's parents owned an orange orchard where she worked picking, sorting,and selling oranges for the family. After high school, she was licensed as a pet groomer, and worked doing dog grooming for a while. Kim enrolled in a veterinarian assistant program, attended classes in police science, and even tried a nursing program. When the family moved to Tehachapi, Kim worked at the Bear Valley Market.

Memorial services were held at the Teachapi Church of the Nazarene where Kim was a member. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Gary and Marie Scammon; her brother, Derek Scammon of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; her step-brother, Jason Tollison of Semi Valley; and her step-brother, John Tollison of Sacramento.
