Bob was born Feb. 7, 1927, to Olaf and Fanny Solso, in Albuquerque, N.M.. His family moved to Southern California when he was 9 months old, and it was there that he was raised and educated.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Back in California, he became employed by Lockheed Corporation at Burbank, Palmdale and Edwards AFB. He loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit other countries for the company. Upon retirement, he was recognized for his outstanding service to Lockheed Aeronautical Systems.

Through the years, he would travel with the family to all the states west of the Mississippi in campers and later visit other parts of the U.S. by tour bus and cruise ships.

Bob’s later years were spent in beautiful Tehachapi, enjoying the deer and the many birds, and working in his woodshop where he crafted gifts for family, friends, and his church.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and seven sisters. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy Solso; three sons, Rob and Cynthia Gober, Bruce and Margaret Solso, and Brad Solso; and one daughter, Linda Brady Doss. Also left to mourn his passing are his 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was a very quiet man who will be deeply missed.

Bob is now at home with his Savior, Lord Jesus. A service in his memory will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m., located at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tehachapi.
