Vince Villareal, 1966–2017

Vince Villareal age 50, passed away on July 1, 2017, at his home in Tehachapi, Calif.

Vince was born on Nov. 3, 1966, in San Antonio, Texas, to Joseph Villareal and Esperanza Alderete. Vince attended Long Beach Poly High School in Long Beach, Calif., where he lived from an early age until he was 32. He then moved his family to Tehachapi in 1998, where he spent the rest of his life. While Vince lived in Long Beach, his favorite thing to do was surf. In his free time, he loved watching basketball, football and boxing.

Vince was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and loved his San Antonio Spurs. He loved listening to music. He enjoyed many different genres, but some of his favorites were classic rock, ‘70s and ‘80s, and the “oldies but goodies.” His CD collection is impressive. Vince absolutely loved to barbecue, hang out and play dominoes, and watch his favorite movies like “Friday” and “La Bamba.” He was known to always play pranks and spook people with fake snake toys and bugs. Halloween was his favorite holiday. He was always good at making people laugh with his jokes.

Vince loved to shoot hoops and toss a football with all the neighborhood kids. He was a great punter and could throw a deep "Hail Mary." He loved to take his kids up to Old Town Pizza on the weekends and birthday parties to play air hockey and arcade games and enjoy some pizza and drinks. He loved to go to Domingo’s, and Papa O’s in Tehachapi when it was around. He enjoyed going to the OC fair every year with his family. Going to concerts and music festivals were his favorite weekend getaway with his friends and family.

Vince lived in Tehachapi for 18 years. He worked at Scooter Video/Supersize Storage in Golden Hills as a camera technician and storage manager for 17 years. Vince was very dedicated to his work and was a hard worker. He lived a great life and left a great impression on many people.

Vince is survived by his two sons, Miles and Max; his sons’ mother, Melanie; his grandson, Malakai; daughter-in-law, Mayra; and his close family and friends.
