Carol Anne Pepaj
1962 – 2013
Carol Anne Pepaj, 51, passed away at home on July 16, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born June 14, 1962, in Jackson, Tenn., to parents Dow and Jane Mullins. She was a beautiful tomboy who loved sports including softball, track and field, tennis and horseback riding. Her lifelong love for outdoor activities began during her childhood, and she never lost her love for camping, hiking and fishing.
Upon graduation from high school in 1980, Carol served in the U.S. Army for three years. She loved acting and participated in several local productions as well as assisting in theatrical presentations at her church.
In 1986, Carol relocated to Tehachapi where she met and married her soulmate, Paul John Pepaj, on Nov. 15, 1997. Upon the birth of their precious son, Jack, on Nov. 23, 2003, Carol’s joy was absolute and complete.
Those blessed to know Carol will remember her for her amazing sense of humor and wit. Carol never lost her childhood ability to find humor in even mundane, everyday activities. She loved to play pranks on others, and she could be quite imaginative in the planning of those pranks. Never yet has a person been born who possessed such a capacity for life.
Carol is survived by her husband, Paul John Pepaj; and their son, Jack Paul Pepaj. She is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Jane Mullins; brother, Lorenzo Dow Mullins, Jr.; and sister, Janis Mosley. Carol’s brother has five sons and six grandchildren.
Carol was fortunate to marry into a large and loving family including her mother-in-law, as well as numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. It is doubtful that this publication would have enough print space to list the entire Pepaj clan, but Carol loved them all.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo Dow Mullins, Sr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at Mountain Bible Church, 630 Maple St., Tehachapi. Additional information may be obtained by contacting Wood Family Funeral Service at 822-6897 or by calling the church office at 822-7541.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carols’ memory to: Mountain Bible Church or the American Cancer Society.
