Ellen Jean Guyon
Jan. 9, 1939 – Jan. 10-2014
Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ellen Jean Guyon passed to heaven after 75 years and one day of a wonderful life. Jean was born in Marshal, Minn., to Donald and Thelma Bamford and raised on a farm which she spoke of with the fondest memories.
She met the love of her life, Airman Stan Guyon, when her brother Donn brought him home on their leave. Our parents were married for over 57 years and raised four children in Highland Park. They moved to Tehachapi on their 80 acres of land in the Sand Canyon area in 1988 where our dad retired and mom continued to work.
She wanted a job with Kern County and to have it she needed her high school diploma, something she didn't have as she quit school at a young age. So instead of just getting her GED she went to night school and actually graduated with cap and gown in her early 50's, She was so proud of that. She worked for Kern County until her retirement in 2001. She worked hard her whole life and had many different jobs. She enjoyed her retirement doing embroidering and making quilts for the family and friends. She was loved by so many and helped out whoever she could. She had battled emphysema for many years and finally lost that battle.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donn, Dennis, and Patrick (who died at birth) Bamford. She is survived by her husband Stan Guyon; her children, Tony and his wife Lisa Guyon, Mary and her husband Dan Ureno, Lori Gillespie, Susan Guyon and Cathy Wentworth; grandchildren, Christina and husband Edgar Bolanos, Anthony Guyon, A.J. Guyon, Natalie and her husband Stefan Galloway, Travis Ureno, Kennneth Gillespie, Rick Johnston, Tyler Guyon and Nicole and Ryan Wentworth; great-grandchildren, Kurt McComas, Tristan and Rhiannon Galloway, Annecy Gillespie, Yeseniah and Tatianah Bolanos, Mariyah Paredes, Ryan Jr. and Mason Wentworth. She is also survived by her brothers Tom and Hallie Bamford and sisters Peggy and Linda Bamford and Patricia Piwowar, and so many nieces and nephews who thought of her as their second mom.
Our family will be celebrating her new life with God in the spring time. She will be missed by so many people. She truly is an amazing spirit and our Angel. God bless you Jean Guyon.
