Jean Ellen Hall
1932 — 2012
Jean Ellen Hall, 80, of London, Eng., passed away on Oct. 18 in Stallion Springs. A Celebration of her Life and Faith was led by Pastor Daniel Alsop on Oct. 26 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tehachapi.
Eldest child and daughter of Sarah and John Smith of London, Eng., sister to John Smith and Denis Smith, she spent her childhood during the Blitz in London.
She was married for more than 60 years to Albert Hall. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1965 with daughter, Ann, and son, Nicholas. Jean became a U.S. citizen and adopted her new country, while remaining a true Cockney Londoner at heart.
She was a proud nanny to Jennifer, Cody, and Courtney; and most recently she welcomed Bella to the family, as her great-granddaughter, by marriage. She was blessed with a great extended family, including daughter-in-law, Kristi, and grandson-in-law, Eddie.
Jean was an avid Scrabble player and Jeopardy fan. She was an adventurous spirit who loved to travel. She valued her friendships, as she was valued by her friends, many for more than 65 years.
Jean and her family ask that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.jdrf.org, as two of her grandchildren live with diabetes.
A much loved and missed wife, mum, nanny, and great-nanny.
