Roberta Lee Ramsey was born on Nov. 27, 1951 and passed away on Aug. 14, 2013.
She was 61 years old.
She was a great mother, wife, and friend.
Roberta was a hard worker all of her life and took pride in her work.
Early in life, growing up in Arvin, she was an outstanding student, a cheerleader and even the Arvin High School mascot.
She received two scholarships upon graduation for her efforts.
Roberta also enjoyed nature, often gathering wildflowers to use in her stained glass projects.
She absolutely loved cooking and experimenting with new recipes, often cooking for people and sharing her cooking tips with friends and relatives.
Roberta was a waitress nearly most of her life and developed lifelong friendships with her customers and coworkers.
She had a fabulous sense of humor and enjoyed having a good time with her friends.
Roberta was a long-term member of the Tehachapi Moose Lodge where she often visited friends and helped with cooking for others.
As a hard worker she provided for her children and instilled in them a strong work ethic, while inspiring many with her endurance to keep going.
Roberta is survived by her husband, John Foster; her mother, Helen Ramsey; her brothers Joe and Cody Ramsey; her children, Shawn Wedertz and wife Melissa, Emma Weimer,
Bodie Wedertz and wife Michelle, Wilson Wedertz and wife Nicole; and 22 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Ramsey; her brother, David Ramsey; and her first husband, Frank Wedertz.
Roberta loved her children dearly. She never knew how deeply she was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday Aug. 21, at Fruit of the Vine Ministries, 522 E. 19th Street, Bakersfield. Services will follow at the same location from 12 p.m to 1:30 p.m. Following will be the procession to Hillcrest Cemetery, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, for burial.
