Barbara Jeanette Cheshier
Barbara Jeanette Cheshier passed away at home in Tehachapi, on Dec. 24, 2011.
She was 77 years old. Barbara was born on Feb. 11, 1934, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Noble and Mary Davidson. Her family moved to Southern California in 1936.
Barbara graduated in 1952 from John Burroughs High School in Burbank. She briefly worked for Lockheed until she married Charles Dean Cheshier in 1953.They lived in Burbank, where they had four children; and they then moved to Simi Valley in 1962.
Barbara was a devoted wife and mother. She was also very devoted to the Lord.
Barbara and her husband moved to Tehachapi in 1998 and are members of Stallion Springs Community Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Cheshier; daughter and son-in-law, Daniel and Debra Petersen of Bakersfield; son, David Cheshier of Tehachapi; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Misty Cheshier of Tehachapi; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Laverne Davidson of Grass Valley. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Charles “Chuckie” Cheshier in 2004.
A service was held on Friday, Dec. 30, at the Stallion Springs Community Church, officiated by Pastor John Gollnick. Interment followed at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.
