1946 - 2013
Bob Lefler died on July 5 with his children by his side. There will be a "Celebration of Life" at Bear Valley Springs Oak Tree Country Club on Saturday, July 27 at 11 a.m.
Bob grew up in North Hollywood and played sports at North Hollywood High School. After graduation, he went into the Navy and served in Vietnam. When he returned home, he attended college and graduated from CSUN with a degree in History. He later became a teacher and then went on to get his masters degree in special education and taught most recently in Tehachapi and the Antelope Valley. He loved living in Bear Valley Springs and had retired two years ago.
Bob enjoyed going on driving adventures and photographing beautiful places like Yosemite, Carmel and Santa Barbara. He loved watching sports and enjoyed playing tennis in his earlier years, running in a couple of L.A. marathons and more recently, playing golf with his BVS friends. He was a member of Patriot Guard Riders and a docent at the Tehachapi Depot and Railroad Museum.
He is survived by his two children, Carey Caulfield and Jim Lefler, four granddaughters, a sister, Barbara Waterman, a niece, Jeannine Thompson, and two nephews, Paul and Mark Thompson. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Tehachapi Depot and Railroad Museum, 101 W. Tehachapi Blvd.
