Ken Dunwoody was born on July 3, 1933 to Mildred and Kenneth Dunwoody in Sacramento. He graduated from Washington High School in San Francisco, and went on to attend San Francisco City College. He served his country in the Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean war. He completed basic training at Fort Ord and then was stationed at the Far East Command Headquarters in Tokyo Japan.
He spent his working years as a claims adjuster for AAA and Allstate Insurance companies. He also worked as a rectifying chemist at Lewis Westco in San Francisco and ran his own miniature antique furniture business.
He spent many enjoyable years on the Russian River at the family home. His interests included boating, model railroading and antiques.
He moved to Tehachapi in 1998 where he spent the rest of his years.
He is survived by his 5 children Debra Dunwoody, Kevin Dunwoody, Kent Dunwoody (Colleen Dunwoody), Kimberly Breci (Tony Breci) and Amanda Dunwoody, 9 granchildren Alexandra Torres, Maria Hunter (Cameron Hunter), Shannon Breci, Michaela Breci, Kristopher Dunwoody, Melissa Dunwoody, Michael Dunwoody, Luis Ramirez, and Jadyn Dunwoody, and 5 great-grandchildren Maya and Bradley Hunter, Bronz Tolentino, Jaxson Conrad and Madden Galloway.
Military Honors and interment will take place on Friday March 14 at 1:15 p.m. at Bakersfield National Cemetery 30338 E Bear Mountain Blvd., Arvin.
