Patricia Blaylock was born on July 29, 1937 in Price, Utah to Grant and Marie Alger. She was the fourth of six girls. She attended Weber High School in Ogden, Utah, which is where she met the love of her life, Larry Blaylock. They dated all through high school, then married on Oct. 13, 1955.
Larry and Pat had their first child Shaun in 1960 in Ogden, Utah. They moved to Bakersfield, California in 1961, where Larry started his career at Bakersfield City Schools. They had a daughter, Lauri in 1964. Pat stayed home to raise her children. Later on because of her love for children, she pursued getting her degree in early childhood development at Bakersfield College. She opened and was director at the preschool at University Baptist Church in Bakersfield, and later on was director of the preschool at the Nazarene Church in Tehachapi. She also taught child care classes at Tehachapi High School for several years.
Larry and Pat both retired in 1995 and they spent several years traveling throughout the world.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, Larry Blaylock, of 57 years, of Tehachapi; Shaun and Jeannine Blaylock of Sacramento; Mike and Lauri Foutz of Fresno; and blessed with 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
