Matthew Thomas-Carlos Eritano, 1995-2011
Matthew Thomas-Carlos Eritano
1995 — 2011
Matthew Thomas-Carlos Eritano, age 16, of Tehachapi passed away on Dec. 11. Matthew’s life was short by most standards, but it was filled with boundless laughter, love, and energy. His life was beautiful in every way, and he will surely be missed.
Matthew was born in Los Banos, on Apr. 20, 1995, to father, Russell Eritano, and mother, Angela Morin. He is survived by his parents, one brother, Dominic of Bakersfield; and two sisters, Christina and Shannon from Okla. Matthew is also survived by his grandmothers, Barbara and Carmen, and great-grandmother, Connie. Matt’’s family also asks that it be mentioned he’s survived by his best friend — his dog, Jag.
Matthew Eritano was an avid video/computer gamer and also loved to watch random YouTube videos. He had an amazing sense of humor, and he absolutely loved to laugh. Matt was especially fond of his younger friends, Inez, Tyler, Colton, Joe, and Tatum. He loved to make them laugh and truly enjoyed playing with them. Matt also was very intelligent and inquisitive and was always asking a question of someone or inquiring about something.
Matthew Thomas-Carlos Eritano was preceded in death by his grandfather, an uncle, and also three sisters: Meghan, Nicole, and Mandy. Also passing before him was a brother, Eric.
Funeral services for Matthew were held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 21, at Tehachapi Public Cemetery — Westside.
Like a butterfly, whose life is also short, Matthew will live on in our memories just as we remember the pretty butterflies of spring, though they themselves may not live long.
“Don’t weep at my grave, for I am not there. I’ve a date with a butterfly to dance in the air. I’ll be singing in the sunshine, wild and free, playing tag with the wind, while I am waiting for thee.”
Wood Family Funeral Service is in charge of funeral arrangements.
