Ruth May Hudson was born on March 3, 1927, in Miami County, Kan., to Thomas and Daisy Endecott. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Aug. 15.
She grew up in Drexel, Mo., and was the youngest of 10 children. She was raised on a farm and always loved a good meal with family and friends.
Ruth and her sister Mary came to California in their early years to work and have fun. She married James Monroe Hudson in 1952. After retiring from Mira Loma County Hospital in Lancaster, she starting quilting. She spent a few years with her sister Daisy in Placerville, quilting, canning fruit, and painting. She moved back to Bear Valley Springs where many family get-togethers were held. She loved birthdays at the beach with her grandkids or on a ski trip in the mountains, the Fourth of July, God and her country. She had a genuine concern and love for all her family and friends.
She is survived by one brother, Thomas Endecott, a World War II Veteran and German POW; her daughters, Debbie Hudson (Bob Dale), Sharon (Dave Farano), Connie (Jim McMinn, deceased) Janice (Steve Miles), nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held at the Bear Valley Church on Aug. 24.
