It is with great sadness that we share the news of William Eugene “Bill” Pingry’s passing on Thursday, March 28, at his home in Tehachapi. A celebration of his life will be held at the Tehachapi Moose Lodge, 123 W. "F" St., on Friday, April 5, at 12 noon.
Bill was born May 23, 1966, in San Diego, to Charles and Peggy Pingry. He spent his early years in Lake Isabella and moved to Tehachapi with his parents when he was 18.
Besides his family, motorcycles were his greatest love. He was born, raised, and lived motorcycles. He worked in his parents’ motorcycle shop, was a member of the Sentinels Motorcycle Club, and enjoyed motocross racing. He was also a member of the Tehachapi Moose Lodge.
Bill worked as an engineer at Belcan Engineering Group, Inc., at Edwards Air Force Base. He was his dad’s best friend and the light of his mom’s life. He is described by his family as “always willing to help out. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it,” and “a genuinely happy person.”
Bill is survived by his son, Beau; daughter, Shelbi; and son, Arlen. He is also survived by his father, Chuck; mother, Peggy; grandmother, Peggy; and many friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharlyn.
Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Tehachapi Moose Lodge.
