Peggy A. Overall, 1950 — 2013
Peggy A. Overall
1950 — 2013
Peggy A. Overall, 63, died on Dec. 15 at her home in Tehachapi. Services will be conducted at the Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel at 321 West “F” Street on Friday, Dec. 20, at 4 p.m. There will be no interment. A gathering of friends and celebration of life will follow the services at the Overall residence at 19704 Mesa Drive.
Peggy was born in Bakersfield on April 24, 1950, to Margaret Buswell and Clyde Wyatt. Peggy attended schools in the Bakersfield area, including several classes at the junior college level. Peggy was married to Chuck Overall on Aug. 4, 1967, and lived in the Bakersfield and Tehachapi area all of her life. Peggy was a licensed manicurist, and worked in retail sales for several businesses in the Bakersfield and Tehachapi area. Peggy was an avid photographer and completed several college-level courses in photography.
Sewing and quilting were second to photography in Peggy's list of preferred things to do. She always had to feel the material before it was put into anything. Ask the grandsons about the trips to the fabric store with Peggy. Recently, Peggy became involved with the local Gourmet Girls and was thrilled to be part of, and take part in, their activities. Peggy was always ready to travel with her grandsons, Kellen, Garret, Ty, and Logan. She took so many trips to the zoo, but she never got to go enough, always talking about the next trip she wanted to go on, or the one she missed when other family members traveled. Peggy thought you should get what you paid for, no matter what it took to get it. Peggy was not afraid to call your supervisor if she thought it needed to be done.
Both of Peggy's parents have died, and she is survived by her husband, Chuck Overall. Her son, Brian Overall, and his family, live in Bakersfield. Her daughter, Stacy Curry and family, live in Tehachapi. They are raising four grandsons. Peggy's sister, Diane Morrison, lives in Bakersfield and she has three children and grandchildren. Her sister, Carol Gallimore, lives in the Tulare area with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Peggy's brother, Don Wyatt, lives in Tehachapi with his wife, and they have seven children and grandchildren. Peggy's brother, Robert Wyatt, lives with his wife in Highland.
