Lynn Clayton Lozar
1938 — 2013
Lynn Clayton Lozar, 75, of Bear Valley Springs, our beloved, husband, father, brother, and friend, went home on Sept. 24.
Born in San Diego, Lynn grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. He was the oldest child in a family of a brother and two sisters. He earned a college degree from Cal Poly, Pomona, in Business Administration, and a master’s degree from UCLA in History.
Lynn served in the United States Army for six years. While in the Army, he was awarded “Soldier of The Year” by the governor of Arizona.
He married Sharon Samaha in 1969. In 1974, they moved to Oregon to raise their family.
His passions in life were serving the Lord, loving his family, helping others in need, teaching, carpentry, real estate, and history, focusing on military history.
As a prolific reader, he loved to explore and share all the ideas and stories of this world and beyond. A wealth of knowledge he would joyfully share with anyone for only the price of listening to one (or more) of his thousands of jokes.
People who knew Lynn marveled at his capacity for kindness, gentleness, and love. He set a wonderful example of how one walks in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon; his sons, Lonny and Lael; brother, Harvy; and sisters, Laura and Ellen.
Interment service with military honors was held at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, prior to his memorial service, which was held at Bear Valley Church on Oct. 2.
