Lee Gene Goodwin, Sr.

August 01, 1932 — January 05, 2012

Lee Gene Goodwin, Sr. was born August 1, 1932. He died January 5, 2012, at Tehachapi Hospital. He leaves a wife; two sons, Lee Goodwin, Jr. and Darrel Wayne Goodwin, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Lee was a Korean War veteran and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and other medals. He was an instrumentation specialist for the Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base for 30 years.

Mr. Goodwin will be interred at Tehachapi Public Cemetery — Eastside at a private family service. He will be greatly missed by all.

    The news that the Pahnamid Wind Energy project has been withdrawn from the County Planning Office is good news to most of us up here on the mountain. After spending several million dollars between the City of Tehachapi’s General Plan, the County’s Specific Plan, and the Kern Council of Government’s “Blueprint,” it would be foolish to start making zoning changes at the first opportunity.
