Jane Adair Barnett
1926 – 2014
Jane Barnett passed peacefully on Aug., 24, 2014, with her loving family by her side, in Tehachapi. She was born Aug., 26, 1926, in Alhambra, to Ed and Phoebe Ogden. She moved to Wilsona with her family in 1935, and it is here where she met the love of her life, Ernest (Lee) Barnett. Lee and Jane married on March 31, 1946, in Lancaster, where they continued to live and raise their family. They moved to Kingman, Ariz. in 1989 to be closer to the Colorado River, which they loved. Jane moved to Tehachapi in 2011, after the passing of her husband the previous year.
Jane was a devoted wife and mother who loved gardening, sewing, boating, and water-skiing. She was an avid water-skier who could teach anyone how to get up on skis. Jane will best be remembered for her playful banter and a sweet smile that could light up a room.
Left to mourn her passing are her brother, Eddie Ogden; sister, Phoebe Giles; her two daughters and their spouses, Sandra and Jeff Patterson, and Janie and Fred VonDuring; her son and his spouse, Tim and Tammy Barnett; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Country Assisted Living. A special thank you to all the wonderful people at Country Assisted Living for their gentle care and compassion, especially during her passing.
