Ruth Hannah Connell

Ruth Hannah (Gipe) Connell left the world in style, as she lived her life. The night before her peaceful passing on the night of Sept. 23, 2014, she danced at the Harvest Moon Festival with close friends. She was 86.
An active Tehachapi community member for 28 years, Ruth donated her time and love (and garage space!) to many causes, notably LIBRA, the group that helps purchase equipment and technology for local school libraries. The books you’d find at the Fall Harvest Festival and Springtyme Faire often came via Ruth’s garage. Ruth and the members of LIBRA raised over $100,000 over the years to help boost academics for Tehachapi youth.
