To the authors of the Forum comments in the Aug. 23 and 30 editions of Tehachapi News who accused the writer of the letter stating Trump is a liar while providing no evidence, I offer this evidence. Google “President Trump's Lies: The Definitive List,” and read the article published in The New York Times on July 23, 2017.

Even for those who buy into another of Trump's lies, that The New York Times is fake news, it is inconceivable to me that anyone who has been paying attention to Trump's antics the past several years cannot recognize Trump for what he truly is, a con man.

Remember the “birther” lunacy? Remember when Donald told the world he had a team of investigators in Hawaii and, “you won't believe what they're finding,” and he would release the findings in the near future, and never did? Remember how he maintained that lie before finally admitting that President Obama was, in fact, born in America.

Donald Trump is an unrepentant, pathological liar. Not my words. Michael D'Antonio, a respected journalist who Trump personally commissioned to write his official biography and spent months with Trump, said that. I refer you to the July 25, 2016, article written by Jane Mayer in The New Yorker magazine quoting Tony Schwartz, the ghost writer of “The Art of the Deal,” who expressed deep regrets for his involvement in that shameless exercise in self-aggrandizement.

Is Trump a con man? That charge was made by columnist William Kristol, and conservative radio host Charlie Sykes, once icons of true conservatives. What's a con man if not a liar? Let's hope more men and women of conscience will speak truth to power before he does something the whole world will regret. I implore all of you fact-averse Trumpists, please wake up and inform yourselves.
