‘Occupy’ movement sweeping the world

“For the first time [in history], people around the world are not identifying and organizing themselves along national or religious lines, but rather in terms of a global consciousness and demands for a peaceful life, a sustainable future, economic justice, and basic democracy. [People are realizing that what they must overcome] is a global corporatocracy that has purchased governments and legislatures, created its own armed enforcers, engaged in systemic economic fraud, and plundered treasuries and ecosystems.” (Naomi Wolf, political activist, social critic, and author, Nov. 1, 2011, in Project-Syndicate online).

People are not making this up. A list of 791 American companies that have moved some or all of their manufacturing base overseas has been published online at cnn.com (Lou Dobbs — “Exporting America).

Jobs have been moved primarily to China, but also to places such as Indian, Guatemala, Bangladesh and so on. It’s a list of every major corporation!

Face it, the jobs are gone folks, and they won’t come back until we take back our Congress and reverse the legislation that the corporations paid Congress to pass (like N.A.F.T.A.), which allows products to come into America, at a cost of pennies to produce.

Those 791 corporations have basically said, “to H*** with the American workers, we want mega-profits.” So, we have a government of big business, by big business, and for big business, whether we like it or not, all backed by Wall Street, and the banks.

Look around. A revolution is sweeping the world — a revolution in consciousness — and it will not stop until justice reigns supreme, for everyone, and all people are free to enjoy basic human rights, which must include food, clothing, housing, education, and medical care for every man, woman, and child, in every country on the planet.

We can do this, and we will do this, for as Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The world has enough for everyman’s need, but not enough for everyman’s greed.”

The Occupy Movement will only pick up steam over the next several months, and 2012 is sure to be the year of a true people’s world revolution, and we shall have peace at last.

Wind Energy

  1. Planning down on the ranch

The news that the Pahnamid Wind Energy project has been withdrawn from the County Planning Office is good news to most of us up here on the mountain. After spending several million dollars between the City of Tehachapi’s General Plan, the County’s Specific Plan, and the Kern Council of Government’s “Blueprint,” it would be foolish to start making zoning changes at the first opportunity.
